As of 2026, I have spent over 13 years studying and practising Resistance Flexibility Strength Training with Bob Cooley and other trainers. Unbeknownst to me when I started, I would end up traveling across different states and internationally to use this trailblazing modality on elite athletes and performers.
The way it works is simple. Most people feel pain. And most people think there is a direct association between pain and the source of that pain. This could not be further from the truth. What normally happens is that pain shows up on the opposite side of the body where the problem is coming from. If the front hurts, normally the back is weak and tight, etc, etc.
Bob Cooley and the rest of the team discovered a myriad of associations that trace back to Chinese Medicine, yoga, and organ health.

Most postural and performance problems can be corrected by interfacing with the fascial structures that are impeding muscle feeling and development. The way we approach touch can lead to lasting change in the nervous system as we develop a trusting relationship with each other
Bob discovered that the fascia is not connected to the nervous system in the same way that muscles are, and therefore, when we are working on that body part, there is no feeling. The fascia holds 4-6 times as much force as muscles do, so no amount of body control will break those tension patterns.
